Frequently asked questions
Vinyl, almost always. In Menorca it holds up far better than solid wood: the humidity of the sea air is what wears a wooden floor down over the years. If you want natural wood we install that too, but our default recommendation is vinyl.
In most cases yes, without lifting the existing floor, as long as it is level and well bonded. It saves days of work and of rubble. If it is hollow or uneven it has to be made good first, and that is checked during the visit.
Little: regular cleaning and care with standing water. The finish makes the difference — natural wood asks for more care, but it can be sanded and brought back years later, which a laminate cannot.
Vinyl can, outside the shower tray. It stands up to the humidity of a bathroom, so the same floor can carry on from the hallway without changing material or cutting the space with a joint.
